Is 5/6 equivalent to 4/10?

I don't know! But I do know how to find out.

To compare fractions one must bring them to a common denominator ( 30 here ) and convert them by multiplying with a form of one.

5*5/5*6 = 25/30

3*4/3*10 = 12/30

By this method we see that the fractions are not equivalent  and 5/6 is almost twice the size of 4/10.

No, I wish it was! Just a picture! I love bassetts. My dogs are not with me anymore , but I had a Siberian Husky, a Blue Doberman and a wolf hybrid..(don't recommend) very loyal, but very hard headed and difficult to train!
