6/4 = 3/2

Some putz will come along and tell you to "simplify" this to 1.5 0r 1 1/2. Do not get caught up in that grade school/HS imprecision. In college math courses the exact answer, 6/4 or 3/2 is the only acceptable;e answer.

John McCann is correct.  When adding and subtracting fractions, only add or subtract the numerator (top number).  Keep the denominator (bottom number) the same.  In your example, three fourths plus three fourths, 3+3=6 fourths.
