I've learned everything in our lives has some type "PRICE", attached to it.

Nothing is Free.

Life is a gift---does that count?

That is true but only by perception. I guess im naive to say otherwise, I do have life and I guess that can be a gift. Not sure why I got it though. Its hard to be thankful for not, "not existing" that is always a mind bender..

Well I think nothing you do goes ignored, cause and affect everything you do affects things. Changes something.

So something you gain isnt really free in my opinion. But you probably wouldnt even notice the change or "price" on free stuff. There are certainly some stuff that cause almost nothing and are free. I have got some myself.

Conclusion: False. That saying can mean different things and Im guessing she wasnt being very literal about it.

A prime example is: How often do you see "free" in advertising? Well how often is that company actually giving something free? Never without a secondary self-interest.

Hugs are free, a kind act costs nothing and the feeling of contentment from volunteering is priceless. Your mom is correct when it comes to physical goods, not too much for free these days.
