Hello. I'm thinking that maybe I edited my question wrong, and it wasn't clear. Here is the way it is actually written in my homework assignment:

Which of the following is the number Za/2 needed in the construction of a confidence interval when the level of confidence is 80%?

One of these is suppose to be the answer (it's a multiple choice assignment): 2.326, 1.960, 1.645, 1.282, or 0.842

Thank you.

I'm just teasing. I notice your question has been unanswered since 8am. Sometimes, if it's answered others will see it and you get more answers if you use a username. Thank you

Jan is just trying to be funny!

Find Zα/2 for 80% confidence.

80% written as a decimal is 0.80.

1 – 0.80 = 0.20 = α and α/2 = 0.20/2 = 0.10

Not one of your choices, but I am rusty!

You might have to check your z table with that 0.10.

Yes indeed!

Still, I do not know how much help I was as I don't do many stat problems anymore.
