My teacher showed us a photo of a boy and his family. The first line of the story has to be "if there was an answer, he'd find it there." I can't think of an answer he would need. What could they want to find out?

You could go anywhere with that....maybe he wants to find out where his father keeps disappearing to on Wednesday nights, so he follows him to a meeting in the basement of a downtown building, where he spies on him and sees him participate in a ritual killing...

Maybe something keeps disturbing the family and moving objects in their home, and they believe a ghost is haunting them, but he thinks perhaps it is a local land developer trying to drive them away so he can obtain their home, tear it down, and build a high-rise hotel...

Perhaps he is trying to find out what happened to the treasure his great-grandfather is rumored to have stolen from smugglers, and hidden, before he was killed. The family is in danger of losing their home due to non payment of the mortgage, and the treasure would solve everything...

Literally anywhere...
