Does Statistics Lie?

Statistics themselves don't lie, however, an individual can 'tailor' questions to lean towards a specific trend or answer.  Also, depending on how the results are presented visually will also affect how people absorb the information.  This is particularly the case when representing information by for example bar charts.  By increasing the 'length of units' on the access for two different graphs, but putting them side by side can affect people interpretation.

Remember, statistics are not lies, however "There are lies, lies and statistics!" [It's a quote but I'm not sure who to credit it with!]

I hope this helps
