Two angles are said to be complementary if they add up to 90 degrees
so that if x and y are complimentary then:
x+y=90
In our question
first angle :x
second angel :90-x
So the equation would be:
x+[90-x]/2=80.5
making common denominator
2x+90-x / 2=80.5
subtracting
x+90/2=80.5
cross multiplying
x+90=2(80.5)
multiplying
x+90=161
shifting 90 to the other side
x=161-90
x=71
so the first angle is 71
the second angle would be:
90-x
so
90-71
subtracting
19
