It helps because you will learn not to ever do that again. For example, if someone pisses you off and you go to detention, you can learn ways to ignore them or not get mad or pissed. It might be horrible, but don't you find it helps?

No, it is like torturing. I never got detention before but I know it is terrible! That will make kids more miserable and then some won't want 2 go to school anymore!
