How Do You Write Your Name Initials?

My middle initial does not stand for a name. It is simply a letter. I have always understood that to add a period after the middle initial signifies it stands or is short for something. A middle initial/letter WITHOUT a period following it simply alerts you that it is just a letter. Ex: Molly J Hendenick
