It says thirty divided by half... Not divided by half of the number. A half is 0.5 so 30/ o.5 is the same as multiplying by two . [try using a calculator] so 30/0.5= 60 then + 10 = 70 then 70 - (-2) is the same as 70 + 2 which equals 72. Its all play on words to try to confuse you
The question is
30/2 + 10 - (-2)
so
15 + 10 + 2
adding
27
So you get 27
30/2 + 10 - (-2)
so
15 + 10 + 2
adding
27
So you get 27
30 divided by 0.5 added 10 then subtracted -2= 72
30/2=15 +2=17
