India was not founded by anybody in particular. But, the first Indian civilization was the Indus Valley civilization(c. 3300–1700 BC, flourished 2600–1900 BCE). It was situated near the Ganges and Indus river, in the Indus valley, which is why it is called the Indus Valley Civilization. Another name for it is the Harappan Civilization, named after the first city that was excavated many years ago.
