You can first of all start with a striking quote or thought in your favour
then mention your name etc...
Then continue the debate by referrin to your first statement...
Don't forget that be confident at all times even if you r unsure bout the topic, as that can help to your adavntage
make sure your research is complete and incase you have been given a topic that your not very passionate about , then try includin facts and statistics, and write and speak it in a very convincing way..
Hope this helps you :)

Go into the debates, and click start your debate, and for a beginner, I would start with something light, as some of the blurters in there are tough, and make good tough arguments. So, until you learn how they are in there, I would keep it that way, then as you gain experience, you can get into the tougher debates. Hope this helps, good luck.

Start with an introduction, use a clear statement. Introduce the topic and your side of the debate (affirmative or negative) You can be general, rather than specific at this stage.
