Scale factor is the common ratio of two solids.
If a rectangular prism has sides of 4, 3, and 3, and a second one has lengths of 8, 6, and 6 then the scale factor will be 4/8 , 3/6 and 3/6.
Thus for all the sides the ratio becomes 1/2.
This means that the rectangles are similar and the scale factor is 1/2
