You simply go up in order of numbers to see what numbers they both go into. It seems more complicated then it is . . . You should be able to tell right away if your numbers go into the number. For example:
8: 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96
12: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, 96
The common multiples of these numbers are what they have in common. They are 24, 48, 72, and 96.
If you are looking for the multiple of one number just keep adding.
