Volunteering involves a lot more than simply turning up and getting on with the job in hand. Companies and several enterprises tend to have volunteer requirements, especially for positions working with children, which require a CRB check.
Other roles which may require checks include handicapped individuals or the elderly. A letter that states your intention and above all your enthusiasm to volunteer will certainly go a long way. A well-written letter of intent will need to illustrate the capabilities and skills that make you stand out from the crowd when going up against other volunteer applicants.
You will need to address your letter to the main volunteer director or coordinator. If you don’t know the relevant person, then call for an accurate name and address information. The opening paragraph should state the specific area or sector in which you would like to volunteer.
You may want to include references or connections you might have within the particular organization as this might be key to obtaining and securing a coveted position. You should also inform them when you are available to volunteer as well as the specific start date.
What is also a key element is to discuss any relevant skills that you can bring to the table. This means that any key experience you have will be important for them to decipher who will be able to perform the role well.
You should also state clearly why you want to volunteer in the chosen sector and show your passion or any other experience you have related to the specific role and how you can add value. Finish by adding names and telephone numbers for all references provided so that the volunteer company can easily check your skills and personality accordingly. Don’t be surprised for the company to ask for a previous reference.

All you have to do is type why you want to volunteer at that place. DO NOT tell them what your going to do and when nor how. Let them decide how they want use your help. Although don't get your hope up, with the Economy right now the may not need your help at this time what till the summer!.

I have leaved in this community for the past 16 years. I have seen the city grow every year. I have also seen crime grow. I do not just want to complain about issues but be a solution.
