Tonality refers to the system of music which is based on a key centre which has certain hierarchial pitch relationships. Tonality is commonly known today in reference of Major- Minor Tonality. Where major and minor are two scales of the tonal music. Major scale is the diatonic scales which is made up of 7 notes, plus an eight note that duplicates the first note as octave higher.
