I would go to your "states" employment departments web site under certifications and look for the criminal charges that would restrict you and also there should be some time limit restrictions. I would not get discouraged about your convictions. I know that this is very hard for a person who has this sort of thing in there life and the most information we get is to continue are education or work from home opportunities and then there is the all famous exp unction which if you have recently been convicted does not help. The States that we live in are suppose to responsible for setting up programs for people that are re-entering the community and this should be employment. I'm experiencing in the state of oregon a lot of negative feed back from temporary services about hiring people with felonies and these are temporary services that are locally working with the workforce of Oregon so I'm starting to wonder if the State I live in is really doing anything for people who are homeless, jobless, hungry and trying to become better people.. The issue of being convicted of a felony is blown off on subjects that aren't really helpful like expungement or some other dead end. I really wonder where all of those federal dollars that Obama has been giving out for programs to improve the economy is going?

Yes, medical billing is an occupation in high demand, and is a good choice for parolees who have an aptitude for it.  A criminal conviction does not prevent you from becoming trained to perform this job, and will not prevent you from becoming professionally certified.
