To be honest, I just took a recent permit test, expecting it to be a breeze. You basically need to have a drivers handbook, and just go online and look up different practice tests. Try out each of the questions, and if you don't know it or get it wrong, look it up in your book and highlight it. When you're studying, it won't be as confusing, and you'll remember the things you highlighted more easily cause you already went over it before. One thing you MUST know is The rule of the right-away. HAVE to know that.

Permit tests can be pretty hard. I know for my brother it was the one thing he failed time and time again. Go to your local Department of Motor Vehicles office and ask them for a guide to the permit test. They will be more then happy to help you get the book and then from there...study everything!..lol.. Good deal is, that if you pass the first time, you wont have to go through that test ever again. So good luck and put some time into studying...Get your friends to quiz you and you will have no problem passing that test.

It's a shame you did not specify your state of residence, as that would help greatly, it's always best to take a state-specific practice test,  However, no biggie.  You can go to the this practice permit test page, select your state and it will direct you to the right place.  Once you select the state and get onto, say, the page for new york permit practice test, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will find the link for the test.  Then you can practice as much as you want, those tests are offered free of charge and there is no limit as to how many times you can take them.  Have fun on the test.

If you go to the mva website they should have a practice test for you to take and the same questions that are on the practice test are the same ones that are on the real test, they may be in different order or worded diffrently but its the same test. Good luck!
