So that means x+y+z=61. Y=5x and z=x-2. Now we can make all of the variables into x terms. The equation will now look like this: X+5x+x-2=61. Combined like terms: 7x-2=61. So that means that 7x=63. You divide both sides by 7 and you get x=9. Now that you know what x is, you can substitute x with 9 in the two equations that indicate what z and y are.
Y=5(9)=45
z=9-2=7
So that means the three numbers are 45, 9, and 7.
