The saxophone was invented in the year 1840 by a Belgian gentle called Adolphe Saxe. He was a talented clarinetist as well as a flautist who used to make instruments for a living. Throughout the yearly 1840's he had manufactures a number of these saxophones but his final patent came on the 28th of June in the 1846. This first time that this instrument was opened to the public was in the year 1841 t an exhibition which was being held in Brussels. Adolphe also came up with a series of 14 designs for the instrument though some of them still haven't been made. The saxophone earlier used to be a part of military music but today is associated with jazz as well as popular band music.
