No formula is needed. The cells can be formatted to display in percent.
If you want the numerical value of a percentage without the "%" symbol, you can multiply by 100. Example   0.05 = 5%   To make .05 display as 5, multiply it by 100.   .05*100 = 5   If the value .05 is in cell A1, then type the formula =A1*100 in the cell where you want the number 5 displayed.   If you want the value .05 in cell A1 to display as 5%, format cell A1 to display as percentage.

Mostly, you do not need to do any calculation of percentages. Numbers can be input using a percent sign, and output numbers can be formatted as percentages.  If you need percentages for some reason, you can calculate them using the same sort of formula you would use if doing it by hand. Multiplying by 100 will give you a percent, dividing by 100 will give you the number a percentage represents. Example   .5 can be represented as .5*100 = 50 (percent).   37.5 is the percentage representation of 37.5/100 = .375 If your number is in cell A1, the formula =A1*100 will give you 100 times the value in cell A1.  You need to be a bit careful. Excel does not know the meaning of the numbers it calculates. It cannot distinguish between the value 50 and the number 50 you intend as a percentage. If you multiply this value by 10, you will get 500, which is not 50% of 10. That is why it is generally more convenient to deal with percentages in Excel using the formatting tools.
