Volume = Area of base x heighth x 1/3
Perimeter of a square/4 = length of 1 side
1/2 of that = distance to center where heighth is measured
Using A^2 + B^2 = C^2 find the heighth of the face (outer side)
Area = base x heighth x 1/2 (remember you have 4 sides for total surface area)
