Dear HappyTwo,

There is a lovely old house a ways out of Tenino, pop.1700 where I now live...but it is vacant and for sale...and driving around one day, my neighbor told me its story!

* * *

Up until maybe sixty years ago, it was a house of ill repute; all the rooms on the third floor are quite small. All the randy loggers in this rich timber country would come out of the woods on payday, lonely...

Well there is another house about 100 yards behind this one, and the story goes there is a tunnel! Built for the exclusive use of the mayor and the chief of police, their quick escape into more respectable surroundings..

Dozy, asking a favor of you...I am having some trouble with my e-mail apparently...did you receive a message from me when you awakened this morning? Rambling on a bit about you, Lynne, me and even Zoë...Subject Line was still "Walter The Grump"...

Please let me know if you can? Trying to get this sorted out...

Oh and I did read this rather appalling experience you had so long ago! Bad-tempered customer he was...

Yes, Virginia. Message received. But today was wash day so after doing that and a late breakfast I haven't got around to replying yet. I'll do that in an hour or two when we get back from taking Zoe for a walk.

Dear David, no need to reply as such! Only if you are inclined...I am just doing research for this issue of my e-mail, you have already helped!

The national vegetable of Wales is the leek.

Therefore, a Welsh letter is a French letter with a leek in it.
