Hello,
Slow learning is quite a sensitive subject and can be a difficult and daunting experience, especially for younger children growing up in a school environment. There are said to be various different causes for slow learning, although this is not always easily identifiable.
Most of the time, people are born this way. This can be as the byproduct of a certain disease or gene mutation, or it can be related to problems during pregnancy, e.g. The mothers use of drugs and alcohol during the time of pregnancy.
A lot of researchers say that learning difficulties are related to how every individual brain processes information differently. As we know, every brain is unique and has a different capacity and method of processing. Therefore, those with learning difficulties have brains which process information in a different way to others.
The average IQ is 100, and that which falls around the 80 mark is said to be in the category of learning difficulties.
I hope this helps.
