To decrease a number by a percentage, subtract the desired percentage from 100, move the decimal place over two spaces to the left, and multiply by the resulting number, thus:

Reduce by 15%= 100-15=85 85%=.85 and multiply number by .85 to reduce by 15%

So, to reduce by 24%, 100%-24%=76%  76%=.76 then multiply your number by .76 and you will have reduced it's value by 24%.
