AGONSA is the acronym which provides the steps for performing a mathematical operation, most commonly Addition and Subtraction. It stands for Asked, Given, Operation, Numbers, Solution, Answer.

It was introduced to help the students in remembering the steps involved in solving a mathematical problem. It states that when you’re given a mathematical problem, first you have to see what the question indicates you have to do. After that you have to see the information given in the question, and then see what operation has to be performed. After that identify the numbers which would be involved in the operation and them write the solution and then write the answer.
