Find slope first.

M = Y2 - Y1/X2 - X1

m = (- 4) - (- 5)/(- 1) - (- 7)

= 1/6 for the slope
------

now, use this form ( called point slope form, I think ) and a pair of the points above (- 7, - 5 ) will do

Y - Y1 = m(X - X1)

Y - (- 5) = 1/6[X - (- 7)]

Y + 5 = 1/6(X + 7)

Y + 5 = 1/6X + 7/6

Now, subtract 5 from both sides and 5 = 30/6 in fractional form

Y = 1/6X - 23/6
