Divide the top number (the numerator) by the bottom number (the denominator) then move decimal place two spaces to the right. For example for the fraction 1/5 .....one divided by five equals .20 move the decimal two places to the right and you have 20 percent. For the fraction 1/8 one divided by eight equals .125 move the decimal two places to the right and you have 12.5 or Twelve point five percent
