There are a number of options available in order to receive a sponsored career advancement education.

It can be pretty difficult to obtain a sponsored education, however, as there is a lot of competition from other students. Nonetheless, there are the best ways to find sponsorship for career advancing education.

Employers

One of the best ways to find sponsorship for your education is through your employer.  Many employers will pay for your education while you continue to work as they'll benefit from your educational advancement.

The only issue with this is that you're generally limited to study what your employer thinks would be of benefit to them directly.

Charities

There are a variety of charities around the world that offer educational sponsorship.  This usually arises if you're willing to study something that would be of benefit to the charity.  For example, a charity for the homeless may be willing to sponsor education that relates to improving the welfare of homeless people.

Again, it's difficult to obtain an educational sponsorship from a charity due to the simple fact that there is a lot of competition from other potential students.

Organisations

As with charities, organisations related to certain fields will often sponsor a student to study a specific topic.  Environmental organisations, for example, are often will to invest in students who will be studying a topic that will directly help to improve the environment.

Overall, the best thing to do is look for sponsorship at the earliest date possible.  There is a lot of competition for sponsors, so you'll likely have a better chance if you get in touch with potential sponsors before anyone else has.

Secondly, make sure you've got a great idea of what it is you want to sponsor.  Try to create a pitch for potential sponsors that will leave them in no doubt that they should sponsor your educational advancement.

Here's a video providing some tips on writing to a sponsor.  It covers business sponsors, but it's equally as relevant to educational sponsors:
