My guess is they didn't come here on their own. I think their parents need to be sent back, but I think they need to file the paperwork to stay and take advantage of their scholarships. There is no reason they shouldn't be allowed student visas.

I added the italics to the following; the bold was on the site:

There are an estimated 65,000 undocumented students — children born abroad who are not U.S. Citizens or legal residents — who graduate from U.S. High schools each year. These children are guaranteed an education in U.S. Public schools through grade 12, but may face legal and financial barriers to higher education

Undocumented students may incorrectly assume that they cannot legally attend college in the United States. However, there is no federal or state law that prohibits the admission of undocumented immigrants to U.S. Colleges, public or private. Federal or state laws do not require students to prove citizenship in order to enter U.S. Institutions of higher education. Yet institutional policies on admitting undocumented students vary.

Why? They're top notch people with high accomplishments. I'd welcome them with open arms to be American citizens because these are the types of people we need. I don't see the problem here when there are generations of lazy bums all across America. I don't see Appalachian folks doing anything to better their community to a fix their generations of poverty.

I mean come on, you're  a 5th or so generation living in this wonderful country with all it's perks and benefits. Yet you're still in constant poverty without any aspiration other than to pick up a drill or shovel. While there are tons of immigrants who change their livelihood in a matter of a single generation. Asian mom and pop work their butts off in dead end blue collar work. Their kids graduate from top universities with professional careers. And now there's these illegal kids overcoming all the obstacles to get to where they are.

I mean.... unless you make $100,000+ your kids can get into most Ivy Leagues for free too. Even if you do, you'd still get a discounted price for attendance up until $200,000+.

I do live in California. They do not get everything for free. They live in shitty neighborhoods. Their parents work shitty jobs for shitty wages. But boy do they work hard. For these kids to graduate top of class and be accepted into top schools, that's quite an accomplishment. How many kids in Kentral Kalifornia and rural Texas are out there achieving things instead of complaining about Obama all day?
