x-4-3y=0------1------
x+y+5=25------2------
taking eqn1
x=4+3y------3------
put this value of x in eqn 2 we get
4+3y+y+5=25
4y+9=25
4y=16
y=4
to find the value of x put y=4 in eqn 3
x=4+12
x=16
hence nos are 4 and 16

Let the two numbers are x and y. According to the given conditions;

x - 4 = 3y ------ (a)

(x + y ) + 5 = 25 ------(b)

Form (a) x= 3y + 4

Put value of x in equation (b), we get

( 3y + 4 + y ) + 5 = 25

4y + 4 + 5 = 25

4y + 9 = 25

4y = 16

y= 4 put value of y=4 in (a)

x - 4 = 3*4

x - 4 = 12

x = 12 + 4

x = 16

The values of x and y are 16 and 4 respectively.
