Formula for the area of a polygon
4*tan(60)
As many planar figures come under the heading of polygon, different shapes have different formulas of finding out the area.
Let me tell you the areas for the most common shapes:
Square: Side*Side
Rectangle: Breadth*Height
Triangle: 1/2 Breadth*Height
Parallelogram: Breadth*Height
Circle: Pie r Square

If the polygon is regular 1/2*apothem*number of sides*side length, or you can divide the polygon into triangles and quadrilaterals and add the areas of those together.
