Sum of two irrationals can be a rational, but it is very difficult to prove that their sum is also an irrational, 2^root(2) is an irrational,but since 1993 we have not been able to determine whether 2^root(2) + 3^root(3) is rational or irrational....irony that there are infinitely many irrational....
