Is Madison Falls High School A Scam?

Madison Falls High School will provide you with a qualification which is recognized by the US Department of Education.  The organization may provide what it says, so anything saying its a scam (i.e. It is not fraudulent), but when you read the small print you can see they do not actually provide a high school education or award any nationally recognized and accredited qualifications.

The Madison Falls High School website appears to offer a free high school diploma but the organization is not recognized by the US Department of Education so the diploma is, effectively, worthless as a an indication of academic achievement.  Effectively you simply pay for a certificate which looks like a legitimate high school qualification.

The website implies the diploma is accredited but the actual small print only states that the school is a member of the American Accreditation Council of Higher Education, an organization which does not appear to exist.  Readers, and search engines, may confuse this with the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, but they are definitely not the same organizations.

This website asks you to complete a few online tests of 12 to 26 questions in maths, science, language/reading and social science which are approximately at high school graduate level.  Once you have completed the tests you then order your diploma for which you have to pay (at time of writing) $219 plus shipping.

There is no information given about the pass rate so you may well be able to pass the tests with a score of zero.  If you can’t manage the test, there is also an opportunity to simply state which life skills you have and then to write an essay about what you can do, for which no proof or verification is required.

Madison Falls High School also appear to offer a GED but actually they only sell you a GED kit and you have to take the test at a registered test center (which you will have to arrange and pay for yourself).  The kit only consists of resources you could get yourself such as popular study guides, a calculator and a stress ball.

If you are looking to get a genuine high school diploma or GED make sure you apply to a recognized and accredited educational organization.  You can check for accredited institutions using the US State Department’s accreditation database on their website.

I got a diploma from Madison Falls High School. It's a total scam. I couldn't get into any college with it. And because it's not credited, I have to get a ged diploma instead just to be able to get into college. It's a bunch of bull. They have no contact number to call or ask questions. All you can do is write them an e-mail that they'll never answer back. Don't fall for their trick like I need. It's not worth the money!

I got my diploma at this school, I called it when it came in the created of the onlince school diploma he said " it's a real diploma its acutally a school". I ask him is I could go to college with the diploma he said as long I show them my transcript I can sign up for collge, So I did I'm a nurse.. Its a real diploma

One of my kids wanted to do this and thank goodness asked me to check it out!!!  It is a scam... I could create a "diploma" and "transcripts" that look just as authentic at home.    Do a Google-Search ( or any other search) on the phone number they list: 877-955-2550.  You will get a ton of hits for all sorts of different "Online" High-schools... To name just a few:  Madison Falls High School; Aberdeen Academy; Columbia North High School; Glacier Online High School....etc...  It goes on and on.    I am reporting them to the FBI and FCC, BBB.      Just remember..... If something sounds too good to be true...IT IS!!!    Check with your local high-schools or local education boards, there are equivilancy tests out there... 98% of the "Deals" on the internet are nothing but scumbags trying to rip you off!

I got a Diploma from Madison Falls, and it has worked well for me. I've asked them many questions and have been answered on all of them. I've gotten into a University, and on my way to my goal. It's not for everyone though. If you want to get into a high class College, go through an actual High School.

I got a diploma from Madison Falls and I'm very pleased with it. I got into two school and I know have a bachelors degree in nursing. For all you people who think or say its a a scam...TRY AGAIN!!

The individuals who have obtained diplomas from Madison Falls obviously hold great writing and grammar composition. Therefore, it must be a legitimate diploma.

Totally just spent 3 hours on that site, so glad I did a little research. You know I'm only 2 credits short of a diploma. . .  I think 200 dollars on summer school and actually feeling like I accomplished something would be way better worth the money . . . But they do in fact say they are not accredited 100% on the site . . . But hey, I'd rather waste 3 hours than 250 bucks and a crappy piece of paper that says I graduated from a high school that doesn't even exist.

My say is, do it if you need a diploma for a job . . . Don't do it if your looking to go to college.

I believe it to be a scam overall. It seems to me that it is mostly for those who jsut need a piece of paper saying you have a diploma for an employer. I took all the tests and could not see how such a simple process could be any where near the equivalent of a diploma or ged. I mean they give you the answers and you can go back and change them. What kind of school will let you change you F to an A? Lets use a bit of common sense. PLEASE, do not waste your money or time. You should always research anyone who wants your money online.

No, Madison Falls, and Belford are both accepted by many institutions, I have had one for two years and am going to UT at Austin so try again kids

I think I am going to call the bbb on this, if you can't go into the privacy policy.. And you can't call them or send them a letter I a don't want to waste my money

I am an enrollment counselor for Regionally Accredited Western International University.  A prospective student presented a diploma from Madison Falls High School with transcript. They are not accepted by our university due to the lack of accreditation.  Please do not waste your money on this program.  It is very disappointing to pay money, study and work hard and have it all for nothing.

Yes most absolute I sent my stuff back and they have not returned my money. So don't fall for it and you would be better off to get a GED or high school diploma the right way not through the internet.

I've seen a total of like 3 people that it worked for and more then 5 very angry individuals that thinks it's complete bs because they really got ripped off over it. I'll vote NO.

Well it does say on the site that it's not accredited, aparently a lot of you people didn't read that... But I think if you're trying to use it for like some big college it won't work. It's basically a GED in disguise

I am 50/50 on this to be honest. I hope it works and get accepted. I'm in NYC. I didn't pay 250 I paid 150. I was determined to not fail this test and lose out on my money so what I did was create two account. One for 150 and another for 250 study guide and then I just put in the right answers. So if they think they can scam me they're wrong! Because they can take credit for 50 percent of it since I scam them right back. Haha :) I advise the same steps to anyone else that wants to take this test.

Yes.... It's completely a scam !!! I wouldnt recommend anyone to abtain a diploma from madison falls for one if it looks to good to be true its usually is ... Not worth it!!! No college would accept any students with there (paper diploma) you can print out youself sorry for my grammar and run on sentences .. But I am just piss that I fell for the same thing a friend put me on to ... Good luck to everyone.

Yes, this school and belford are the exact same! So don't fall for it! My boyfriend was going to pay the 249 dollars until I said something about it might being a scam so we researched it, and we found out it was! So don't waste your time and money on them and this type of things!

Yes--they are not accredited by a recognized agency. They have an accreditation but the agency is as false as they are.
