A quart is used to measure the volume of something, where as a pound is a unit of weight so it is not possible to convert between the two, because they refer to completely different concepts in measurement. There are 16 ounces (oz) to a pound and 32 fluid ounces (fl. Oz.) in a quart, and while you could determine how many pounds in weight a quart of a specific item would be, such as a barrel of beer for instance, the measurement would vary on a case-by-case basis. In the case of the barrel of beer, after weighing it, the weight of the beer barrel itself would need to be subtracted to give the actual weight measurement of the volume of beer itself. You could then work out how many quarts per pound of beer.

It is also possible the question refers to the weight measurement of a quart, as in an abbreviation of the term ‘quarter of an ounce’ a unit of measurement used in certain social circles, which we won't go into here. If this is the question that is being posed then the answer would be one-sixteenth of a pound, being that there are 16 oz to one pound.

Since a quart is a volume measurement,it Equal to 1 / 4 gallons or 2 pint, about 0.95 liters (American), or 1.14 liters (English). And a pound is a weight measurement,so,if you are talking about water, then 1 quart equal to 2 pounds, but you are talking about strawberries, you cannot use the volume measurement.

A Quart is a unit of Volume, while a Pound is a unit of weight/mass.

A quart is equal to 2 pints which in the UK equals 40 fluid ounces. As we use 16 ounces to the pound, it follows that the conversion ratio in the UK is 2.5 lb per Quart.

I may be wrong in what follows, but I think in the US they take a pint as being 16 fluid ounces, so that 1 pint weighs 1 pound, and thus a Quart (2 pints) would weigh 2 pounds. Perhaps one of the American Blurters can confirm / correct this. Either way, I think it depends which side of the Atlantic you are.

It really depends upon quarts of what, as different things weigh differently for the same volume.  However, and I don't know for what substance, the old saying was "a pint's a pound the world around".  That would make a quart equal 2 pounds, as a quart equals 2 pints.

A pound is a mass unit and a quart is a volume unit. 16 ounces are equal to 1 pound and 1 quart is equal to 32 ounces. So there is only one half of a quart in a pound. You can convert anything into pounds from this formula. For more details of these conversions, click here

I assume that you are referring to quarts of water, if so, one gallon of water weighs 10 lbs and there are 4 quarts in one gallon therefore one quart of water weighs 10/4 pounds or 2.5 pounds

Therefore 0.4 quarts of water will weigh one pound, your answer
