  • Can I apply for JAMB 2010/2011y?
It is too late to apply for the 2010-2011 JAMB entry. It is also too late to apply for the 2011-2012 entry. You will usually need to apply a few months prior to the exam. This not only gives the examination board the chance to record how many students will be sitting the exam but it also gives you the opportunity to study and revise in preparation for the exam. It is not a good idea to enter an exam under prepared. Not only will this be a massive worry and stress for you but there is a chance you will be so under prepared you'll fail and have to re-sit it.

  • What is JAMB?
JAMB stands for the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board. This is Nigeria's official examination board and they set the exams for the majority of Nigeria's monotechnic colleges, polytechnics and also the universities. Most students who will be entering the JAMB exams will have already completed their external exams with WEAC which is the external examination board for Western Africa and stands for West Africa Examination Council.

You can find out more about JAMB by visiting the website http://www.jamb.org.ng/. Here you will find information regarding the courses they provide, getting your results after examinations, entering the institution and information regarding changing your course. You will need to enter you details to access these parts of the website so you must already be registered with JAMB to access the information.

According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board's website, UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation e-registration) registration for 2011 has just opened.  You can download a UTME Registration Template from their website:
