Before answering how much the fee is, it is important to understand what mature student means at the University of Ghana. Anyone who is 30 years or older will be considered a mature student. Before they can be admitted, there is a qualifying examination which is conducted in English. There is an essay in which comprehension, grammar, and usage is examined. There is also a general paper that looks for quantitative methods, current affairs, and critical and logical thinking.

Mature students are admitted to Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree programs. Applicants are also lodged as resident tutor, or ACCRA worker's college. Given that mature students are accepted to science programs or Bachelors of Arts, the fees will be $5,795 for the entire year. The examination fee is generally $200, with $100 per semester. Application and registration fees combine for $150. Tuition fees are $3,500. There is a fee for international programs at $400. For a place to stay, it is $1,547 for the entire year.

Bachelor of Arts will be only $500 less in tuition fees. These are the costs for all Ghanaian students. Foreign exchange rates will vary, but mature students pay the same rates as regular students. Fees can change per year, but these are also the 2010/2011 fees as shown on their site. It is possible that fees for the next year will increase. Given that regular students and mature students pay the same, all that is different is the degree program one can join.

It is essential to apply to any program before worrying about the fees since admission is going to determine whether you are accepted into the program or not. There are various ways to pay for university.
