I don’t think so, no. I mean, it all depends on what you’re good at and what you want to do with your life. You don’t need a university education to be successful!

I left school when I was fifteen, and ten years later I was managing a transport café. I knew university wasn’t for me – I’ve always found it hard to focus on learning from textbooks or taking notes. I have to be out there experiencing something in order to learn, and I think that goes for a lot of people.

You don’t need a university education for some jobs – you just need training and experience, and you can get that by working your way up.

On the other hand, if you want to be a nurse or a teacher or something, then you’d obviously need a university education for that!

I suppose what I’m saying is that you should only get a university education if it will help with what you want to do with your life.

Don’t let anybody pressure you into going to university if you don’t want to – you can always go back and get a university education at a later date, or when you’re sure about what you want to do with your life!

Everyone I know who went to university absolutely loved it, but it’s not for everyone. I’m pretty sure I would have hated it. Just do what feels right to you!
