It is very important to treat a general report as a professional report and keep it to the point. Each and every thing has to be in order. First of all make a presentable title and the subject of the report. Then comes the introduction section which explains the problem and other work related things about the company. Other sections of the report include the financial position of the company. You can also mention some of the solutions to the problem which you have stated before in the report. You can refer to previous reports of the company for a better understanding.
