Cell phones shouldnt’t be allowed in schools because It can distract the school work and the other students who’s trying to study and people can be cheating because when their doing test  they have their cell phones with them and they can  just text his/her friend and ask for the answers.
*When you talk about cheating, be sure to mention that they can use a camera phone to take pictures of the test or study notes from home and use that to sell the test to another person or cheat. They also text message each other to get answers
Here's a good one--there have been cases where kids took nasty pictures of other kids undressing in the locker room and then posted them on MySpace or YouTube or something.
Can you imagine 20 or more cell phones ringing in class? Can you imagine 20 students talking on the phone while a teacher is trying to teach a class? It would be a constant disruption to students and teachers.

Your cell phone could get stolen in the locker room or the changing room. If someone finds your cell phone their not going to return it to you, their probably going to use it and break it outside.

1. Cheat on test
2. Receive calls
3. Receive text
4. Annoying receive
5. Play games
6. Go on the web
7. Can distract other student
8. Distract the school works
9. Pay more attention to the phone
10. Can get lost or stolen and the school is blamed

Many schools do not allow students to use cell phones in school because it disrupts the learning process. Most students use cell phones irresponsibly. They use cell phones to talk to their friend during class time. They also use their cell phone to text message or pass on answers to tests, homework, and other class information.  Students also use the calculator and camera features in the class as well, which is another disruption to learning.

So some people said Cell phones should be allowed in school because of an emergency but you don’t need to have your phone in the classrooms because your parents and teacher knows where you are. You’re safe if you’re in the school.

THATS WHY! IT TOOK ME LIKE 15MINS TO WRITE THIS :)

Because it distracts the children from learning, and it gets kids in trouble, And taking your cell phone to school could cause it to be taken by the teacher for the rest of the year.

Because they are potentially disruptive to the learning process. If people are constantly getting calls or testing, their concentration diminishes, which leads to decreased performance. Besides, it's just rude to use one while in class. And outside of class, there is always the possibility that  you may forget to turn it off. If it goes off in class, you disrupt everyone.

It's more of a utilitarian thing.

In addition to disrupting the learning process, the signals from the cell phones can interfere with the school emergency response system. Many schools are banning cells phones because of this problematic interruption.

In my opinion, it is okay for students to have cell phones in school. It is good to have a phone in case of an emergency. However, the students are using them irresponsibly, so this is why teachers do not want students to have them in class.

Cell phones are not allowed in school because cell phones distract  the students from learning and plus it can disrupt the class. School you are there to learn not texting. Plus cell phones are very  noisy and  annoying. Teachers won't get students to pay attention in class..

Well, what if you keep your phone on vibrate so they don't bother anyone, Give your cell phones to the teacher for a test. Texting in class is just like talking in class. If it really causes a huge problem, then take them away. Use a 3 warning rule or something. As for pictures, people bring cameras to school anyway to take pictures, so there is really no difference. No matter what, kids are going to use cell phones in class, and if you let them use them, the excitement will die down soon enough. :D

Kids should be allowed to use them because as parents never know when something bad is going to happen to their childs school, and they would never know if it is going to be their kids that might be the ones to get hurt... Or maybe something happens to the childrens parents and they have no way of knowing...

One: Because it disruptive to the whole of the class if the teacher has to constantly stop to make sure people are paying attention, that one person is following along or that he or she is not disrupting someone else in that class or in another.
Two: Because some people have thought of writing down notes, or recording them on to their phones. This means that at any point they could open these notes in the middle of a test or exam and cheat, OR simply just plug their headphones into the audio-jack on the phone and listen to their teacher reviewing the notes and or answers.
Though this is simply a stupid (or smart) choice of some individuals the fact remains that bringing your cellphone to school can be handy, it's just plain rude to have it in class.

A lot of you guys are saying its disruptive. As I'm writting this I am sitting in pc 101 and in text 2 people, my taecher, classmates, nor myself has been distracted. I have an A in all my classes and I'm doing just fine texting my friends. If we were going to cheat we will just sit next to the "smart kid" and look at his paper. We kids are smart enought to know that when we are 20 mins behind everone els. Looking down then writing an answer is vary obvius, and much harder/ longer then just looking to our side for 2 seconds. It is not disruptive unless its on ring. Vibrate is fine.

I think that it should not be allowed in class because, students can use it to text answers to test, quiz etc. But some good can also come from it like in case of an emergency, but it can also be a distraction in class. That's why here at my school Ocean Academy every morning and afternoon the teachers collects our phones before class.

I think in primary and secondary school cell phones should not be allowed because most of the students are immature and don't use cell phones wisely (eg. In case of emergency) but for other purposes, causing distraction in education. At the end of the day they go to school to learn not to play games and text each other. :-)

As a response to "because the principals are gay fags...", I think that you need to understand that, unlike their students, teachers and principals do not use the expense or quality of their technology define their worth as a person.  Educators do not have "phone envy", but rather seek to prevent technology from doing the following: Interfering with the learning process, creating opportunities to coordinate improper behaviour (ex. Cheating, or drug interactions), and creating social issues.
