It is fairly easy to calculate weight loss by using percentages. Simply divide the amount of weight the person lost by their original weight. For instance, if a person lost eight pounds and their original weight (before losing) was 160, then they had a 5% weight loss because eight divided by 160 is .05 or five per cent.
