There are an infinite number of place values. A few of the named ones are shown in the figure here. In general, for every place value to the right of the decimal point, there is a corresponding one to the left of the decimal point. (tenths, tens; millionths, millions, for example). The ones place is in the middle of these, and its position is indicated by the decimal point to its immediate right.
